Beijing Veritas Demerit Policy
威力塔斯北京校区学生管理制度
In order to accurately document a student's compliance with school policies a demerit system will be applied to all students at Beijing Veritas. The actual number of demerits awarded will be based upon the following scale: (Students are encouraged to carefully review this list and insure they are not in violation of items listed.)
为了实行威力塔斯学校的管理方针和政策，威力塔斯北京校区将实行记分惩罚制度。记分的相应条例如下。(学生们须参照规章制度来规范自己的言行，以确保不违反相关条例)
• Class disturbance after being verbally corrected by the teacher = 5 demerits
扰乱课堂行为（经教师口头提醒后第二次犯同样行为）5分记过
• Use of inappropriate language= 5 demerits
不文明语言5分记过
• Uncooperative attitude or conduct = 5 demerits
不配合教师或者带头扰乱者5分记过
• Dress code violations - 1st offense = 3 demerits
违反着装规定制度—第一次3分记过
• Eating food or drinking colored beverage (all soda) at classroom = 5 demerits
在教室吃东西或饮用有色饮料及汽水5分记过
• Dress code violations - 2nd and subsequent offenses = 5 demerits
第二次以上（包含第二次）违反着装规定制度 5分记过
• Class disturbance accompanied with a show of disrespect = 10 demerits
扰乱课堂并带有失敬言行等行为10分记过
• Public display of affection (PDA) = 10 demerits
公众场合亲密行为10记过
• Skipping class or school = 20 demerits
逃课行为20分记过
• Possession of electronic devices, CD players, cell phones, etc.=10 demerits
违反规定携带电子设备、电子播放器、手机等10分记过
• Fighting and brawling, quarreling, smoking, laws violations = 20 demerits
打架斗殴、寻衅滋事、抽烟酗酒、从事违法乱纪行为，如有以上行为之一，20分记过
• Academic dishonor, plagiarism, cheating = 20 demerits
学术不诚信，抄袭他人实体或网络作业、作品，考试作弊20分记过
Regulation of Dormitory Management
学生宿舍
• Any entrance or exit to the dormitory later than 10:30 p.m. will not be tolerated. = 5 Demerits
严禁10点半宵禁之后出入宿舍楼。扣5分
• Any action of visiting to the different gender’s dormitory will not be tolerated. = 20 Demerits
严禁男女生互串宿舍。 扣20分
• Any action of stealing or sabotaging the asset of others/pubic will not be tolerated. = 20 Demerits
严禁窃取、破坏他人财产及公共财产。扣20分
• Any usage or storage of computers/Smartphone/high-power electrical appliance/any other electronic devices beyond permission will not be tolerated. = 10 Demerits
严禁未经允许在宿舍持有电脑、手机及其他禁带的电子产品以及大功率电器。扣10分
• Any action of making any loud noise/visiting others’ dormitory later than 10:30 p.m. that disturbs the resting of others will not be tolerated. = 3 Demerits
不允许在晚上10:30之后大声喧哗，互串宿舍，影响其他学生休息。扣3分
• Any action of talking/wandering later than the light-off of 11:00 p.m. that disturbs the resting of others will not be tolerated. = 5 Demerits
不允许在晚上11点熄灯后随意走动，聊天，或任何影响他人休息的行为。扣5分
• Please keep the environment clean and tidy. Any action of tossing garbage into public areas (dormitory/corridor/toilet/bathroom etc.) will not be tolerated. = 3 Demerits
爱护住宿环境卫生。不允许在宿舍、楼道、卫生间以及公共浴室乱扔垃圾。扣3分
• Please get on well with each other and put your trust in each other. Any usage of others’ personal asset without the owner’s permission will not be tolerated.
保持同学之间友好信任相处。不允许在未经允许的情况下私自使用他人私人物品。
• Non action of staying up is suggested.
不建议熬夜学习。
• Non practice of musical instrument that may disturb the others is suggested.
不建议在宿舍练习乐器，影响他人。
The Headmaster reserves the right to set aside the demerit system if the student's conduct or attitude becomes uncooperative or rebellious. If this occurs, the parents will be required to meet with the headmaster before the student can resume classes at Veritas.
校长将有撤销记过处分条例的权利。如果学生出现行为及态度不配合甚至反抗者，其家长需要和校长进行面谈，之后方可正常上课。
• The above list of infractions/behaviors is not intended to be all-inclusive.
以上条例中的违规行为不是全部惩罚内容。
• Behavior/infractions that are not listed above are awarded demerits/suspensions after a careful review of each individual occurrence.
未被列入的违规行为或不良现象将会在仔细评判后给予适当的记分惩罚。
• The assignment of demerits (quantity) and/or suspension/expulsion for these occurrences is at the sole discretion of the Headmaster.
具有大量记过者被停课、开除等情况由校长决定。
• Please note that nothing within the scope or word of the Upper School Demerit System or the Veritas Student Handbook is to be construed to limit the Headmaster's authority to ensure a safe learning (academically and physically) environment for students.
请注意，为了确保每一位学生都享有身心安全的学习环境，校长的处罚权利不仅限于本制度或者威力塔斯学生手册。
• The Upper School Discipline Policy may be set aside at any time, if, in the sole opinion of the Headmaster, the action of the student endangers the student, and/or the environment of other students.
根据校长意见，如果此记分惩罚制度影响到学生正常学习，学校记过惩罚制可以酌情调整。
• This endangerment can not only be physical, but also spiritual, in nature.
学生应该知晓，违反以上规定的行为并不仅仅是简单的违规，同时也会有损其个人形象，并对自身造成不良的心理影响。
Consequences for the accumulation of demerits is as follows:
记过处分制度的结果将按照以下执行：
Per quarter:
每季度：
• 10 Demerits = conference with the grade counselor and parents
10分记过者——学生家长与班主任面谈；
• 20 Demerits= One-day suspension and conference with grade counselor again
20分记过者——停课1天，其家长须和班主任再次面谈；
• 30 Demerits = Two-day suspension and conference with vice-principal
30分记过者——停课2天，其家长须和副校长面谈。
• 35 Demerits = Three days of suspension and conference with principal
35分记过者——停课3天，其家长须和校长面谈。
*Demerits are erased at the end of each quarter for the above consequences. However, totals are cumulative for the lists below.
记过总分在30以内（包括30分）每一季度结束后，其记过分数清零，但是超过30分的每学期将有以下惩罚：
Per Semester:
每学期：
• 35 Demerits = three days of suspension
35分记过者——停课3天
• 40 Demerits = student will be suspended and mandatorily asked to repeat grade or downgrade with a probation time. If student violates over 10 demerits in probation time, he or she will be expelled.
40分记过者—— 学生将被停课、强制留级或降级并进入留校察看试读期，如学生在留校察看试读期违纪分数超过10分，学生将收到开除处分
Per Year:
每学年:
Any student who is demerit free for one quarter will redeem 10 cumulative demerits.
任何一名学生如果在一个季度中其记过处分为零将被减除10分的积累处分记录。
